Decaf is not the answer

I’ve mentioned before (7 ways to relax) that it might be a good idea to try to eliminate your cuppa joe but I want to let you know that going the decaffeinated coffee route, isn’t necessarily a great way to go either. Why? Because the process of decaffeination is pretty awful. Generally, unroasted beans are steamed then are rinsed in a acid like solvent with either methylene chloride or ethyl acetate (nail polish remover!) for about 10 hours - to remove the caffeine. If you read that correctly, I’d imagine that you would understand that the final result might not be that great for your health. That information alone should make you quit decaf coffee cold turkey.
